¿WHY DO WE STRUGGLE WITH THE NOTIONS OF MASCULINITY?
We use outdated versions of what it means to be masculine and feminine when most people don’t fall strictly into either category. We create an internalised homophobia based on terms like “masc” or “straight acting”. These terms are ridiculous. Straight people don’t use them; why should we?
I think that we as gay men forget that we have no gender roles that we "have" to conform to. We are free to be ourselves and to love whoever the hell we want. Often we desire the epitome of the masculine man to the point that we crave what, in essence, doesn't really exist. Good post, my blogging brother! Take care and stay bare!
