NEW CAZWELL VIDEO TEACHES YOU HOW TO GET IN TOUCH WITH YOUR FEMME SIDE

“I was surprised by the reaction because the outfits are way more conservative than the shirtless guys in Speedos and jockstraps I typically have in my videos.”

That’s gay rapper Cazwell — previously from New York, now based in Los Angeles — commenting on the polarizing opinions he received after posting a teaser Instagram photo to promote his new single “Loose Wrists,”  which features the blue-eyed performer and his backup dancers twerking in lacy rompers:

“I moved to Los Angeles a year ago,” Cazwell says, “and I wanted to make a song that people could drop their convertible tops down to and head bang along with.”

“I noticed a Femme Pride movement brewing a few years back, but it has not been so visible until now. It’s about time we all embrace femme. Whether we are gay or straight, when men get in touch with their feminine sides, it gives a real sense of empowerment.
We have a president that wants to take us off of the census and a vice president that believes shock therapy will cure gayness. At the end of last year, I vowed to be as gay as possible with my music and videos. We have to be more visible than ever, and I hope I inspire that.”

Check out the new single below, and do your part to make lacy rompers a thing:

ANIMATED FILM ABOUT A GAY BOY'S CRUSH IS SO CUTE IT HURTS

Prepare to have your heartstrings tugged.

Children’s entertainment has made some modest strides in breaking free of outdated gender roles, but there’s still a huge void in queer representation aimed at a family-friendly crowd.

A new animated film is setting out to change that, and the recently-released trailer is causing hearts to melt across the web.

In A Heartbeat was created by Beth David and Esteban Bravo, two animation students at the Ringling College of Art and Design in Florida. It tells the story of a closeted boy who “runs the risk of being outed by his own heart after it pops out of his chest to chase down the boy of his dreams.”

As if that short synopsis wasn’t enough to send a shiver down your spine, here’s the trailer to seal the deal:

“We want to put out a message of love and self acceptance to all the kids and young people who struggle to identify as LGBT+ just like Sherwin does,” David said.

The film, partly funded via a 2016 viral Kickstarter campaign, is set to be released for free online this summer.

DJ ZEKE THOMAS REFUSES TO LET BEING RAPED DEFINE HIM, RELEASE POWERFUL PSA

It’s estimated that one in six men are sexually assaulted. Now, DJ and musician Zeke Thomas is doing his part to put a stop to that.

“Sexual assault touches all genders, all races,” 28-year-old Zeke tells BET in a candid new interview. “It’s a human issue and it’s something that isn’t talked about. And we gotta start having those conversations.”

Last month, Zeke opened up to New York Magazine and Robin Roberts at GMA about being a survivor of sexual assault. Now, he just announced he’s the newest ambassador for the National Sexual Violence Resource Center.

Speaking to BET about his new role with the Center, Zeke says:
What I hope to achieve in my ambassadorship is if I can help you through my story–giving a voice to the millions of men who are abused or have been raped before–if I can help point you in the right direction the same way allies have helped me, that’s what I want to do.

The first time Zeke was sexually assaulted was when he was 12 years old. He recalls:

I didn’t realize what had occurred. I knew it was wrong. I knew something wasn’t right about it. But it wasn’t until much later that I started talking about it with my therapist and actually told my mother that this had happened to me.

Then in February 2015, it happened to him again. He connected with a man on Grindr, they met up for drinks, he passed out, and the next thing Zeke knew, it was morning and, as he described to New York Magazine last month:

My ass was destroyed. Destroyed. I’m bleeding. And I’m just like — terrified. I can’t move. I didn’t move from my apartment for two days. I didn’t move. I didn’t talk to anybody. I froze.

After the attack, the man blocked Zeke on Grindr. To this day, he has not been able to find him. But Zeke tells BET he doesn’t blame the app for what happened.

“These apps that everybody uses — from Bumble to Tinder to Match.com got an app now — these apps aren’t the problem,” he explains. “It’s people. There are bad people in this world who do want to do harm.”

Zeke hopes by sharing his story with other victims and survivors of sexual assault, it will help them closure to their own experience.

He explains:

It’s never a day that I don’t think about it, that I don’t question it, that I don’t relive that moment. Even now speaking about it, you feel that pain. But the pain didn’t defeat me and I’m not going to allow it to. But you keep on doing that work, you keep on talking about it, you still go to therapy and do what you have to do to take your power back.

MALE RAPE VICTIMS SHARE THEIR HARROWING STORIES IN THIS POWERFUL NEW DOCUMENTARY

“I felt ashamed,” one man says. “I felt like someone is stealing something from me.”

“I just wanted to run away,” another adds, “and get away from everything.”

According to the 2014 National Crime Victimization Survey, 38% of rape victims are male. And 1 in 6 males are sexually assaulted before the age of 18.

“Sexual violence does not discriminate against men,” activist and filmmaker Vanessa McNeal says.

McNeal’s new documentary The Voiceless examines the stigma that surrounds male rape. In the film, five brave men share their accounts of being sexually assaulted and how they coped with a situation that is still considered by many to be taboo.

Some of the men kept their feelings bottled up for years. Others ran away from home. And some turned to violence and joined gangs. Despite their different backgrounds and strategies for coping, all five share one thing in common: None of them received justice for what was done to them.

“We live in a society that continues to state that sexual violence can’t and won’t happen to men,” McNeal says.

The Voiceless has just begun making its rounds on college campuses and has already received a strong response from viewers.

10 RULES FOR ASKING OUT A MAN ON THE FIRST DATE IN THE AGE OF GRINDR

Now that marriage equality is the law of the land, it is time for our community to learn how to date properly.

Two guys interested in each other romantically can stumble over those initial bumps in the road to romance and even marriage. Who asks who what, and when? With so many definitions of what makes a relationship, with open debate on the importance of legalized marriage or whether or not to be monogamous, it can be overwhelming to even think of how to ask someone out on a simple, old-fashioned date. And despite the prevalence of so many ways to find sex online, there are still a lot of us who prefer the good ol’ dinner and a movie.

We certainly don’t know the secrets to living happily ever after, but we do have some pointers for how to at least properly meet someone. Hint: good manners are always a good idea.

1. If you want to go on a date with him, ask him out
Welcome to the 21st Century, when straight women are empowered enough to ask men out. That means no one, gay or straight, should wait around to be asked. Perhaps you are shy, and that is a challenge, but everyone is scared of rejection. In fact, is selfish to expect someone else to always take the risk. And telling him, “Here is my number, text me if you want to go out sometime” is so depressingly passive, it does not deserve him giving you a response. Don’t be a wimp.

2. If you take the initiative to ask him out, have a plan of what you want to do
It was your idea to ask, so you should actually have an idea of a place to go. Asking him to go out, and then following it with the question “So where do you want to go?” or “When?” is the worst. He may not have been thinking about going out with you, and suddenly placing the responsibility on him to come up with a plan is stressful and rude. If you can’t think of someplace to go, it suggests that perhaps you are, sorry to say, boring.

3. If you offer the vague, non-committal “Let’s go out sometime,” and he agrees, you have three more texting encounters to finally make a suggestion
Asking someone to get together “sometime,” but never finding the time to do it, means you are always finding other activities you would rather do than go out with him on that date you suggested. So hurry up and make a commitment.

4. If you ask him and he declines, you can certainly try again (and you should, life is short), but it is his turn to ask you
Perhaps he doesn’t want to, which is a bummer but life goes on. Or, perhaps your first invitation was very casual, so ask a second time with a more specific suggestion. At least you tried. If he wants to pursue any sort of connection—on a date, as friends, whatever—he needs to meet you halfway. Never chase anyone. Sadly, there are people in this world who will keep sending you “What’s up” text messages only because they seek attention more than they seek affection.

5. If you asked him out, he said yes, and you agreed on a day/night of the week, always have a plan set before you go to bed the night before
Even if it is a quick message of “I get off at work around ____, I will text you then,” that is enough to let him know you remembered, and you respect the fact that he can’t wait around for you all day. And for God’s sake, remember Rule #2. Be a man.

6. If he asks you out and you want to meet, but you already have plans for the time he suggests, then offer another time.
Suggest something immediately, during that conversation. “I am busy on Friday. How about Saturday?” Boom. Done. If you aren’t sure of your schedule, of course you have the right to take a day or two to get back to him. But if you turn him down, and then a week or two later you text him, “I’m not busy now!”…good for you. His invitation has expired. You are not living in a Tennessee Williams drama, a southern belle sitting on your porch, sipping tea and welcoming gentlemen callers to woo you into marriage. You made him wait, so take off your hoop skirt. It is your turn to ask.

7. Stop sending countless texts and “smiles” and “woofs” on hookup sites to young, complimenting them simply for being young and beautiful
Carrie Fisher wisely said, “Youth and beauty are not accomplishments,” and she perfectly summed up the crisis that has engulfed our community’s next generation. In years past, young gay men (and all youth in the LGBT community) suffered without a support system to guide them as they learned how to become adults. When once we treated them with indifference, we now threaten them with overindulgence, as it is so easy to endlessly compliment them for doing nothing other than taking a selfie. Sending a 21-year-old a “smile” on Adam4Adam or a “woof” on Scruff is nothing more than a fleeting thought, an effortless gesture; but those messages add up in their inboxes, and eventually those lovely young men think they somehow deserve the attention provided by the lists of men who apparently think they are special. These boys have learned to view the outside world from the perspective of their identities as sexual objects, and when someone innocently attempts to speak to them as actual adult humans, it is presumably yet another tiresome attempt to have sex. Or, they become offended when they realize it isn’t. Either way, no one wins. Save your compliments for the people, young or old, who you actually know and like. Compliments should be part of an actual conversation.

8. An introductory phone conversation can tell you a lot about him, in just minutes.
Cell phone technology has ruined the experience of talking on the phone, with garbled voices and never finding a convenient moment for both persons to talk. Endless texting, with the “What’s up” and “What do you like to do for fun” and “What are you into” questions, is no way to get to know a person. Speaking requires you to contribute to the conversation. So talk on the phone at least once, just for a few minutes, before you meet. Schedule a time, turn off your TV, sign out of Facebook, turn on some background music, and chat about your day. If you need something to do while you talk, fold some laundry or something similarly mindless. Then say “Thank you,” make a plan to go on a date (or don’t), and hang up and go on with your life. Meeting for the first time and being confronted with what he really looks like and acts like AND sounds like can be unnecessarily awkward. FYI, simply listening to a texted recording of his voice doesn’t count.

9. Sending a text message in front of someone else is the same as having a secret conversation
Imagine you are on a date. Someone walks up to your companion, they whisper something to each other, and they don’t tell you what they just talked about. Strange, yes? This is no different than being with someone while texting someone else. Texting has become a social necessity, but your date has no idea if you are sending a message of “This guy is so ugly and boring” and you are planning an escape. Or perhaps he thinks you just got a message on Grindr, and you’re texting back that you are on a date but can meet up for sex later. Even if it is an innocent message to your co-worker, isn’t your date important enough to put your phone away and pay attention for an hour? If it isn’t, perhaps you should leave and stop wasting his time. But remember: if you are always looking for something better, nothing will ever be good enough.

10. Whoever asked to go on the date, pays for the date
Asking a guy to meet you for a cup of coffee may not seem like a big deal, but still, buy him his stupid cup of coffee. In a perfect world, with two adults who both have jobs, you would each pay for yourself all the time. But even the most expensive cup of coffee is only $6, so show a little panache and thank him for taking the time to meet you in person. If you ask him to an expensive restaurant for dinner, don’t expect him to pay for his half. He may not be able to afford it.

Do you have suggestions for how to treat a guy on his first date?

5 REASONS EVERY STRAIGHT MAN SHOULD GO GAY @ LEAST ONCE/FIVE TIMES

Straight men, take heed. You’re acting way more gay than ever before, and that’s OK. Marriage equality, having been baked into the constitution, gives you even more permission to be gayer than ever before. By God, homosexual sodomy is legal in every state.
Between cuddling with their bros, getting off on gay porn, and experimenting with anal play, it’s time for you hetero guys to just start hooking up with us gay guys already. And we’re not just saying this cause we wanna hook up with you. Really, you are not that hot. This is for you, dude.

Even if it’s just a one time thing.

Scroll down for five reasons why every straight man should try going gay …

5. It will satisfy your lifelong curiosity.
Any self-identifying straight man who says he’s never once thought about what it might be like to bed another guy is lying. It’s natural to feel curious about things that are foreign to you.
It’s always a good idea to outside of our comfort zone. That’s how we learn and grow. So why not stop fantasizing and actually give it a college try? Remember: If you don’t like it, you’ll never have to do it again.

4. Gay men make excellent lovers.
You know those filthy things you see in porn that kinda turn you on but that you would never actually ask your girlfriend to try because she’d probably think you’re a total pervert? Well, we’ll do it! All you have to do is ask. (Politely, of course. Well, demanding it can work too!)

When it comes to sexual inhibitions, many gay men, well, lack them. That’s why we invented things like Folsom Street Fair and Up Your Alley. That’s also why people like Rick Santorum and Ken Cuccinelli are so afraid. We’ll boldly go where your girlfriends and wives have never gone before. And it’ll make you feel so good.

3. The humbling experience of being penetrated.
As straight men, you’re used to being the ones doing the penetrating. But haven’t you ever wondered what it might feel like to be on the receiving end? Hint: It’s pretty f-ing amazing. Not only that it’s an extremely humbling experience, and in a good way. Watch your arrogance leave your body as fast as your clothing, to be replaced by the knowledge that you took it like a man.
True, the first time can be a bit shocking, and you’ll need need to prepare with some stretching and cleaning. (A new jock strap never hurts either.) But as long as you remember to breathe, you’ll be fine. We promise. And when it’s over, not only will you have experienced the most mind-blowing, earth-shattering orgasm of your life, but you’ll walk away with a greater understanding of what sex feels like for your female counterparts.

(P.S. Here are a few tips on how to lose you anal virginity with aplomb.)

2. It will make a gay man sooooo happy!
There are some guys out there who have dedicated much of their social lives to to seducing straight men, often with only sporadic success (of course that’s before we published this helpful little article). Many have tried, failed, and then lied about it. (We’re talking about you, gay dude who swears that he hooked up with his college roommate after a party one time and you, gay porn stars, who claim to have been seduced by Tom Cruise in an Italian Villa. Yes, we know he’s shorter in real life than he appears on screen. You can Google that.)

By giving into your own curiosities, you’re also giving some gay man out there bragging rights for a lifetime. For the remainder of his years, he will tell his buddies about the time he got naked with a hetero guy. You could be that hetero guy.

1. You might like it.
Remember when you were a kid and you said you hated brussels sprouts, even though you had never really tried them, then when you were adult you realized that, actually, brussels sprouts are pretty delicious, especially when tossed with olive oil and roasted?
The same could very well apply to gay sex. You may take a dip in the man pond and realize it’s actually a ton of fun. And, no, just because you tried it once and kinda liked it doesn’t make you gay.

You’re more than welcome to go back to your straight “lifestyle” in the morning.

We won’t judge you for it.

SAME-SEX COUPLE SECRETLY GOES TO PROM, MELTS ALL HEARTS

Myren sure pulled one over on his folks! The maryland high school student wanted to go to the prom with his boyfriend, but his parents didn’t care for that — they forbade him from attending.

So he told them that he was going to an “ashawo” party and went anyway. (Sidenote: what’s an ashawo party? In Nigerian slang it means “prostitute” so probably not that.)

Anyway, everyone’s been utterly charmed by the photos that Myren posted to his Twitter, showing two dapper teens with glorious suits. A few negative comments popped up here and there but in general it’s all been quite supportive.

If his parents ever figure out what Twitter is, they’ll be in for quite a shock — their son’s become a minor celebrity since the prom. But they’re unlikely to come around anytime soon: when he came out as bisexual, they instantly disapproved and wanted him to stop dating his boyfriend.

Myren seems to have made the right decision, though. Eventually, those parents will probably find out that he went to the prom, at which point it’ll become clear that if they’re going to reject him, he’ll reject them right back. He’s choosing an authentic life over the disapproval of family, which is always the right thing to do.

Sadly, that means missing out on some important experiences. He told Buzzfeed that he missed having his parents there to take pictures of him as he headed out. His boyfriend’s family didn’t come either.

But despite the speed bumps towards acceptance, Myron, and queer kids like him, have a huge thumbs-up from social media all over the world. Congrats to the happy couple.

SOME PEOPLE THINK MICHAEL B. JORDAN & "CREED" DIRECTOR RYAN COOGLER ARE A BIT TOO CLOSE IN THIS PHOTO

Writer and blogger Robert Jones, Jr. (AKA Son of Baldwin) gets Facebook trolls freaking out about the perceived “gayness” of the above photo of Michael B. Jordan and his Creed director Ryan Coogler all the way together in a piece for The Grio.

The two men posed together for a recent Vanity Fair profile that lit social media afire when Jones, Jr. posted it on the Son of Baldwin Facebook page. In the words of Jones, the photo “portrays a kind of intimacy between the two men — the two black men — that seemingly betrays the rules of patriarchal masculinity.”

Apparently, the pic is “a lil gay.”

Heterosexual black male masculinity remains such a fragile thing for very complex reasons, and this “controversy” certainly isn’t helping (note: hold off with the pitchforks, this writer is black).
We’re not huge fans of this new trend of creating stories based on what a few idiots think on social media, but this deserves to be checked, and boy does Jones, Jr. check it:

This is nonsense, of course; a careless, cherry-picked understanding of human existence designed to give certain segments of our communities an inflated sense of self-importance. Human sexuality is much more complex than they will ever admit, and the ranges of genders and sexualities expressed in humankind pre-date any attempt at supposed sociopolitical manipulation.

But I’ve been told that it’s natural for black men, in particular, to panic about their manhood and masculinity given America’s perennial violence against us. Perhaps there’s some truth to and justification for that. But I wonder if we’re allowed to interrogate that idea a little more. What I’m interested in knowing is whose notions of manhood and masculinity we’re trying to emulate.
He goes even deeper in the piece, which is really worth a read.

It will be nice when a photo of two black men can just be a photo or, better yet, when black men can playfully poke fun at gender norms and homoeroticism with the glee of Channing Tatum or Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

Until then, black male sexuality will continue to be heavily policed, but at least voices like Son of Baldwin exist to start a much delayed conversation.

THE ADVICE THIS 1950s DIARY FARMER GAVE TO HIS GAY SON WILL MAKE YOU CRY

Patrick Haggerty grew up in rural Dry Creek, Washington during the 1950s. His father, Charles Edward Haggerty, was a dairy farmer. When he was a teenager, Patrick starting becoming aware of his sexuality, but he kept it hidden as best he could.

One day, Patrick’s father, sensing his son was gay, sat him down and gave him a piece of advice he still carries with him to this day: “Don’t sneak. Because if you sneak … it means you think you’re doing the wrong thing.”

“Of all the things a father in 1959 could have told his gay son,” Patrick recalls, “my father tells me to be proud of myself and not sneak. … I had the patron saint of dads for sissies. No, I didn’t know it at the time, but I know now.”

HILLARY CLINTON'S NEW AD HILARIOUSLY SKEWERS THE RIDICULOUS REPUBLICAN DEBATE

Hillary Clinton‘s latest ad hones in on last Wednesday night’s CNN Republican presidential primary debate, focusing on a laundry list of issues close to Democrats’ hearts that nonetheless failed to be broached at any point during the not-so-animate arguments: paid family leave, affordable child care and college education, equal pay for women, and protecting voting rights.

However, the ad does emphasizes how eager each presidential candidate is to defund Planned Parenthood, repeal ObamaCare, and vilify, yes, Hillary Clinton.
Check it out below.

YES, THE FOO FIGHTER RICKROLLED WESTBORO BAPTIST & YES IT WAS AMAZING

The Westboro Baptist Church is famous for disrupting people’s lives with their offensive signs and horrible demeanor.
So what’s the best way to combat all the hate?
Well, probably just by ignoring them altogether and starving their putrid fire of the oxygen it needs to stay lit.
But sometimes a well-publicized slap in the face is so much more satisfying, and today that comes via this video of the Foo Fighters Rickrolling a Westboro protest.
The already-amazing incident is made even better knowing that the hate group was there in Kansas City, Missouri to protest the Foo Fighters’ show.
So imagine how the Westboro bunch must have felt when crowds around them cheered as Dave Grohl and co. pulled up in a pickup blasting Rick Astley’s “Never Gonna Give You Up.”

PROTECT YOUR BACK DOOR WITH CONDOMS FROM THIS GAY COMPANY

It’s impossible to overemphasize the importance of a healthy back door, if you know what we mean. A few weeks ago Stag Condoms released a playful video to promote its safer-sex product, which according to its mission statement addresses “the unique needs and lifestyles of gay men that traditional, heteronormative condom companies don’t. When it comes to pleasurable, safe, bed-rockin’ sex, we’ve got you covered.” Good to know, folks. Another incentive to go Stag, if you will, is the company offers 50 percent of its proceeds to its AIDS Walk Fund. Aww. But it’s important for condom ads to be sexy and this one gets it just right.

In the clip, two men run through their morning routine but eventually go their separate ways. One guy unwittingly leaves the back entrance open and unguarded, allowing all sorts of mayhem to carry on as a devilish group of horny men enter and have at it in the common area. The take-away is easy to remember: Never leave your back door unprotected.

ELLEN PAGE ATTENDED JAMAICA'S FIRST EVER PRIDE

Out actress Ellen Page was on hand to celebrate Jamaica’s first ever pride festival, which included a flash mob but not a parade due to security concerns in the notoriously homophobic island-nation.

J-FLAG, Jamaica’s foremost LGBT rights organization, scheduled a series of Pride events to coincide with  the 53rd anniversary of Jamaica’s independence from the UK.

However, since Jamaica is one of over 75 countries where homosexuality is illegal, J-FLAG decided not to have a parade and kept the location of the flash mob a secret.

Still, in a rare show of solidarity with the LGBT community, the mayor of the country’s capital, Kingston, was scheduled to speak at the Pride event’s opening ceremony on Saturday.

“I come from the point of view that I, as mayor, have a responsibility to all the individuals of Kingston,” Mayor Angela Brown-Burke told the Washington Blade. “There are individuals who are minorities who have been struggling in terms of their identity and finding their own space. It is important for us to provide safe spaces for them.”

The LGBT community in Jamaica often faces violence and persecution, with homosexual acts between men carrying a penalty of up to ten years in prison.

Page, who came out as a lesbian last year, is making good on her hope of making a difference by shining a social media light on Jamaica’s groundbreaking Pride celebration.

Page also shared a pic of the Pride flash mob —  though a far cry from the bigger, flashier celebrations around the world — some 40 Jamaican LGBTs made their presence and their pride known.

TODAY IS SUMMER LEISURE DAY!
