You Still Heart My Blog!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

4736 blog entries and can safely say that I have now amassed a body of work that can safely be called "pointlessly unique." In the history of literary efforts, there has never been a literary effort quite like this one. Okay, literary might be pushing it, but I don't think I'm engaging in hyperbole when I say that it's highly unlikely my achievement will ever be duplicated, let alone surpassed. Why?

Well, most of the bloggers that left have better things to do and those of us that are left (a goodly number), are simply compelled to vomit up daily offerings of painfully personal, petty, mock-metaphysical, self-congratulatory, rage-filled, and regretfully sarcastic entries that occasionally haunt us forever, but I digress.

Anyway, I wanted to use this momentous entry to celebrate my accomplishment because, well... no one else was jumping up to do it :-)

¿¡¿¡MILESTONE!?!?

Okay, I don't know about you but I'm impressed. Six years of
blog
C'mon, that's really something. As a personal feeling towards numbers, I LOVE
5! But I can now look back with pride on having had the discipline to
communicate something of value for 6 years.

Now I know some of you are thinking the phrase
"something of

value" might be overstated. Well, may I remind you,
I've always had the option to create blog entries which had value only to me.
Instead, I chose to wrestle words into some sort of meaningful form...for six
years. Have I been successful? That
will have to be determined by people who haven't written a blog entry (ok those that still blog can jump in as
well).

¡HAPPY BLOG-O-VERSARY (THANK YOU)!

I've got to share this blog with you for 6 years now. Every
time I
write an entry, I'm quietly astonished that I get away with putting
these things on the net daily. I mean think about it, at the end of each entry,
I get to communicate whatever's on my mind directly to you. This is a
remarkable thing, folks. Messages from a non-writer using one of the most
powerful medium the world has ever known.

Six years of blogging means I've received a lot of time to THINK
OUT LOUD! Six years, I wonder if in
years to come, if people will talk in hushed tones about the fabled blog called
thegaytekeeper. Its very existence will be debated. Did TGK write for that long?
Could it be that 6 holds the vital clue to the puzzle, the enigma, that is/was TGK
(graduate thesis, anyone?)

One thing's for sure, if you're reading this, you know the
answer -- but don't let that discourage you from talking about this blog in
hushed tones.

page views mark. I’d like to thank you guys, particularly the regular
readers, feed readers because you guys helped make this possible.

I BLOG BECAUSE "THEY" AIN'T COMMENTING...

Should I have said to him, ‘‘NEVER ask
a question when you know the answer is going to be the truth ?’

They tell me that silence is ALWAYS bad news.

They tell me that comments
guarantee a blog; but does it guarantee self-esteem?

I think bloggers like me blog because we are IMMUNE to
the masses!

I find this space safe to blog openly and honestly because they're not
really commenting. Hmm, does that mean they are NOT reading?

So who are the two players
in this game you say? Predictably it is bloggers that comment and bloggers that
just read. Telling them apart is simple. Just look @ the comments I DON’T get!

The next time I am asked
about the comments (or the lack thereof) on my blog, I will
simple ask this: when a commentator ‘evolve’ into readers,
does that mean they've had their fill and I've reached
my ‘each one, teach one’ goal OR does
that mean they're insecure about their blog and need a cyber-hug?

¡THE 2000th MILESTONE!

For 2,000 entries I sought to open the mind and heart for myself and others. I know that some things can seem repetitive but my message of you can be ANYTHING you want to be still stands. As I blog here daily, with LOVE as my mentor, I knew I could keep this going. So as we celebrate this milestone and look forward to the other 1,000^th I say:

Walk side by side with love.
Sit down by the fire, feel and see love.
Make love your partner throughout life’s many challenges until you and love depart at death.
Always lie side by side with love.
Accept whomever you are.
Accept the world as it is given to you.
Accept a ‘rebirth’ by being here in the moment.
Let go of what’s not working as you know it can, and be the ‘new man or woman’.
Blow out all the cob webs that obstruct your journey to the new and real you.
Be friendly with your heart, and get to know what opening it can do to your life.
‘Supersize’ your love and compassion!

¡HALF A DECADE OF BLOGGING!

LOOK WHO IS A BIG BLOG NOW! Today marks our 5th Anniversary and I’ve used this space as a canvas on which I paint the chaos that is man and the conquering power of inhumanity. Though I one time too many take the easy and lazy way in keeping this blog going, I am grateful that you’ve remained with me.

For half a decade we’ve kept those important conversations going...those conversations for the voiceless and the marginalized…those conversations that make me, you…US brave enough to exist in a world where we are told we shouldn’t be. And though some entries make you cringe in horror and disbelief, PLEASE note that we are merely pointing out what exists in this world of ours. Kindly forgive us for topics not covered, we CANNOT get caught up in the perceived hypocrisy and 'waves' of outrage which flow around the media and the 'blogosphere.'

As in previous years, we’d like to thank the gentle readers who visit us from time to time and those who comment on what is written/posted; feedback is always useful and we are grateful for it. SO LET’S ROLL ONTO THE NEXT FIVE YEARS AS WE KEEP THIS BLOG CHUGGING ALONG!
