A REAL MAN...

...Because, the person who broke my heart

Or should I say strengthened my heart
Because he was a diluted version of a MAN.

It's so funny when I think about it

Because every indication that he didn't love me was right in my face.

I don't think that the fact of him not reciprocating love was the problem,

It’s the fact that he made me think I was crazy for thinking that he didn't.

Material things can't substitute genuine affection

And I needed that (genuine affection) in my life.

It's as though we went through the motions

Because we were so comfortable with each other;

Then things got taken for granted.

Long nights sitting up waiting to hear a key in the door of my heart

Acting like everything’s okay in the morning

While scrambling eggs and holding back my tears and biting my lip.

I think that I have lost my faith in monogamy...

It doesn't matter how good something is;

There I am, just waiting for the bottom to fall out.

I want to believe that things will be different

But there isn't a clear indication that hope is alive.

Don't think that I don't want love...

Sometimes it gets lost in translation

And I want something more manageable.

Something that I tend to do is become a lover before friends.

I want something real.

I want someone to want me just as much as I want them.

When you're gone I want to miss your touch,

Your scent,

The sound of your voice.

I don't think that's asking too much.

COMMUNICATION...

When we are in a relationship where we feel listened to and understood we count ourselves lucky because we know how rare that experience is. We reserve our most intimate selves for the people who, along with us, co create an open space where we feel free to express ourselves and listen without judgment. These relationships, which thrive on open communication, can mean the difference between existential loneliness and a deep sense of belonging. We all long to feel heard, understood, and loved and clear communication makes this possible. Sometimes problems arise in the process of expressing how we feel, but it is always worth it to do the work. Even in our less intimate relationships, expressing ourselves honestly is essential to our sense of well-being. Whether at home with family or in the outside world, successful communication requires some forethought; otherwise we risk blundering through our relationships like the proverbial bull in a china shop. However, too much forethought can stifle us or cause us to pad our words so extremely that we end up saying nothing at all or confusing the matter further. The good news is that there are many methods that can come to our rescue, from meditation to visualization to journaling. If the person we need to communicate with is open to sitting in meditation together for a set period of time before speaking, this can be invaluable. When we are calm and centered, we can count on ourselves to speak and respond truthfully. We can also meditate on our own time and then practice what we need to say. A visualization in which we sit with the person and lovingly exchange a few words can also be a great precedent to an actual conversation. If writing comes easily, we can write out what we need to say; it may take several drafts, but we will eventually find the words. The key is to find ways to center ourselves so that we communicate meaningfully, lovingly, and wisely. In this way, we honor our companions and create relationships in which there is a genuine sense of understanding and respect.

¿DO I SPEAK ENGLISH?

If I told you once, I have told you a thousand times…PLEASE STOP SENDING YOUR COUNTERFIET VERSION OF LOVE MY WAY! I WON’T ACCEPT THEM NO MATTER HOW MANY TIMES YOU CHANGE THE GAME BECAUSE I KNOW THE RULES STAY THE SAME. Talk about your definition of insanity, how can you keep doing the same thing expecting to get different results? LISTEN AND LISTEN WELL, I AM SURE THAT I SPEAK ENGLISH! I DON’T GIVE A RAT’S ASS WHO YOU SEND MY WAY, I WILL ONLY STAND FOR THE BEST; I AM SINGLE BECAUSE I AM EXCEPTIONALLY WONDERFUL AND I REQUIRE A MAN THAT FEELS THE SAME. Let’s face reality: I am not your puppet. I have you by the throat and I can hear your heart beating faster and your breathing become shallower as you heed my words; wondering who truly is the MASTER behind them. You hate how my laughter taunts you, goads you; spurn you on and on and on. I want TRUE LOVE and you know You WANT to be Mine, why fight me on this? Guess you have lost touch with all reality or just entered into Mine? You send me MEN that ME, try to exploit ME, and drain every ounce of LOVE out of ME. This is the creed of the TRUE ASSERTIVE, one who is not just satisfied with the notion of an hour of pain you send me. GIVE ME MY MOST HEARTFELT DEVOTION! As long as you please ME to the best of your abilities, you will have MY attention and when you displease ME, I shall toss you aside. I want you to put me above all others and make ME your ultimate joy and concern. Show ME that my words are not useless; open your HEART, empty your SOUL and make me a happy MAN. Seems as if I have to take you on a journey and educate you on the ways of LOVE. AND NOW I DIGRESS AND I’ll STEP OFF THE SOAP BOX NOW! But please stop playing your games I am done playing…LUV OH LUV, WHEN WILL YOU LEARN?

'THE "I" FACTOR'

How many of you actually know of persons out there that talks the talk but can’t walk the walk? You have an individual that has all the confidence in the world, this person is dominating but can’t seem to spill that into all areas of their lives. This person lacks what I call ‘THE “I” FACTOR’, meaning they are only all about themselves in a controlled environment but when it comes time to put that talk into action they can’t seem to find it. Well there is lady that I know, she has all the things she needs to get herself in order, but she doesn’t do it. She constantly complains about her life and the persons that don’t appreciate her. She sells herself short in every turn and the sad thing is that she knows it. She has ‘THE “I” FACTOR’ because she set herself apart from the rest of society by being an activist. Even in doing this she still in my opinion didn’t appreciate herself for what changes came because of her having ‘THE “I” FACTOR.’ She has a problem accepting the fact that she placed herself in harms way for things that didn’t turn out the way she’d hope. She can’t see that she was only meant to take it so far and that activism is an on going fight. Hence she gave up on it because I feel she lost her own importance in trying to be what others say she must be. She has ‘THE “I” FACTOR’ because doesn’t even look like the rest of women in our society, yet it took her a while embrace that she is in fact IMPERFECT in her own PERFECT way. She has lived in the shadows of others and the same shadows are haunting her today! Only if she realize this back then she wouldn’t be craving for a change now. She has lost ‘THE “I” FACTOR’ and has placed herself in a despondent mood. I know she cries tainted tears and her soul is haunted with every breathe she takes. It’s as if HELL is her home; her only place of comfort. Her heart sings a tuneless song and nothing seems right; dealing with a LIFE that seems so unfair, feeling totally unwelcome in GOD’s lair. Think she knows that she is only she and that’s all she can be? No more, no less and so please embrace ‘THE “I” FACTOR’ and don’t second guess. Accept the fact that her logic is her own and @ times it will be misunderstood. She like a diamond has many facets all make her who she is…DISPLAYING ‘THE “I” FACTOR she possesses.

TODAY IS SUMMER LEISURE DAY!
