HIV DON'T...

…Give you the right
To blamed others
because you didn’t request it in your life
You don’t get to play the wow is me card
Act stupid
F&CK anyone you please
Just so that you can ease the ache in your soul
Shit you gamble
Way too many times
Now here you are
Weeping like a baby
Invaded by this invader…
A victim of YOUR own victimization
Trying NOT to be
A volunteer
Of a seriously civilized society…
So sad that the memory of you
Is like lost hope tied AND untied
With a little lie
Wonder when they’ll cancel your show?
Say goodbye
Cause it’ll be time to fly
And you’ll be defeated by THIS reality
Defeated by reality
An on going battle
Between the real and reality
This N’ that
You AND me…
But in time you’ll be
Deflated by truth
I ONLY hope that it is NOT too late…
HIV DON’T…

TRADITION IS THE PROBLEM, NOT RELIGION

So I’ve come to the realization that GAY folks are THE most scrutinized group of people who comes to religion involuntarily. As prisoners of our sexuality, were captured OR kidnapped through psychological mean, made into slaves whose ONLY salvation is to conform to the TRADITION of religion. But does this have to be the case? Do we need to STRUGGLE with OUR sexuality when it comes to religion? I SAY HELL NO! I find it AMAZING how we are taught that if we can survive the horrors of NOT being ourselves, that we will be REWARDED with acceptance N’ love. Persons that use a multitude of devices AND strategies, from physical violence, fear AND verbal humiliation, pass on their message of hate AND destruction. So I am of the opinion that in order for us to rescue ourselves from the TRADITIONAL dependency when it comes to religion, we need to continue to turn upside down the process and simply be who GOD created us to be. For it is ONLY when we come to know who are sexually that we were the DEHUMANIZATION and I don’t think that makes a whole lot of sense. TRADITION BRUTALLY TERRORIZE us and forces us to accept OUR blasphemous status first, followed by our second class citizenship rank. So if we are to get back home, we will have to travel a well-defined path leading to a number of critical junctions. These junctions are important milestones that signal that we are indeed making progress and headed in the right direction. Reaching our destination of liberation requires travel in reverse order starting from our present-day status which is the thing GOD HATES into the beautiful human beings that we are. It is when we EMANCIPATE ourselves from all forms of TRADITIONAL slavery, center ourselves that we come up against the TRADITIONAL belief systems AND world views that are empowered by men AND women who refuse to see how beautiful the world really is and I am of the opinion that this TRANSFORMATION is a COSMIC one. This DIVINE mission AND SUPREME challenge that we face will ALWAYS exist because the TRADITIONS of a people keep us chain N’ bound. THIS UNDOUBTEDLY IS THE GREATEST TASK OF OUR LIVES & IT ‘LL TAKE AN UNPRECEDENTED CLARITY, COURAGE & COMMITMENT ON OUR PART. SO MANY OF US ARE STUCK PERMANENTLY WITH NO WAY OF ESCAPING THE DECEPTION OF TRADITION THAT SEEKS TO DESTROY US. NONETHELESS, WE CANNOT LET THE OLD VIEWS OF THE WORLD STOP US FROM PROGRESSING & EVOLVING. I READ SOMEWHERE THAT THE SWEET WATER IS @ THE BEGINNING OF THE STREAM & I AM OF THE OPINION THAT ONLY THE BOLDEST, THE BEST & THE BRAVE DARED TO REACH FOR IT’S SWEET TASTE…FREEDOM IS @ HAND & IT IS OUR RESPONSIBILITY TO GET IT, TRADITION OR NOT…

TWO GOODFELLOWS...

November 2, 2008 mark the anniversary of the FIRST time Noel and I saw each other and had our FIRST date. I remember that Saturday so well and I am glad that I got to live that…My day started with me having to go to work (yep on a Saturday). I stopped by my mother’s house for bit because for some reason I tried to reach Noel but I wasn’t successful and I wanted us to FINALLY meet after a few near misses. So after being @ my mom’s for a bit I decided that if we are going to meet now was the time. I called him again and as the universe would have it, he answered his cell phone. I told him about my plan for us to meet and he agreed. However, he wanted to freshen up as he just woke up and he needed to get himself together. @ This time I told him NOT to, I said THAT I WANTED TO SEE THE REAL YOU…I WANT TO MEET THE PERSON & NOT THE REPRESENTATIVE (wrong of me huh?)…I mean I was all groomed and shitz and here he was in all his morning glory. So the moment he came in the car, I looked @ him and smiled because he took the leap and didn’t wash his face, brush his teeth nor fix himself up and I LOVED IT! We drove for what seemed like hours trying to cover all the things we said we would talk about when we meet face to face. Knowing that I had to go to work for a bit I told him that I will take him home to get ready because I wanted to take him for lunch @ one of my most favorite places GOODFELLOWS FARM. I dashed to work which was about 45 minutes away showed my face and left (good thing the warehouse supervisor didn’t show up) this FURTHER proved to me that Noel and I were meant to begin OUR journey on this day. I arrived @ his place he got in the car all groomed and I must admit he looked nice, I felt SO lucky. When we got to our destination I was a bit worried that he wouldn’t like it and that would make our date a bad one (and who wants that?). @ Lunch we talked about our backgrounds and realized that we had a lot in common…That was SO refreshing because NOT only is he intelligent AND PERFECT, he is SEXY as hell! He is the RIGHT size, the kinda man that fits me like a glove and I knew I wasn’t going to let him go…I ate he kept staring @ me and all I was thinking about was him kissing me because I felt that he wanted to…(and rightly so) who wouldn’t want to kiss these lips of mine? ;) But all in all it was a wonderful day and on this day we decided to visit the place that started it for us and it was nice to reminisce and try to remember what we did that day…ALL I KNOW IS THAT WHEN I DROPPED HIM AFTER THINKING HE HATED IT, I GOT THE MOST LOVELY TEXT THAT SAID THANK YOU FOR THE BEST DATE EVER & I LOOK FORWARD TO MANY MORE…I WAS ELATED BECAUSE IT IS VERY RARE TO MEET SOMEONE THAT CAN HOLD YOU MIND, BODY N’ SPIRIT WITHOUT RESERVATION OR HESITATION…THANK YOU BABY FOR THE BEST FIRST DATE EVER…I LOVE YOU SO MUCH…

EQUALITY IS A RIGHT, NOT A PRIVILEGE!

A chapter has closed. After almost two years of a grueling campaign that included SHAKING COUNTLESS HANDS, TRAVELING TO & SPEAKING IN SMALL TOWNS/LARGE URBAN AREAS, BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA II is president elect of the United States. For some that is a nightmare, others the result of what Langston Hughes called A DREAM DEFERRED. With the realization of this dream, some of us were disappointed because as a VERY important event took place, another NEVER happened. It was a difficult night for same-sex marriage advocates. Florida and Arizona voters supported same sex marriage bans. Out in California, Proposition 8 numbers are still coming in and it’s going to be tight. IF ONLY PEOPLE UNDERSTOOD THAT ALL GAY PEOPLE WANT IS TO BE LEFT ALONE TO LIVE THE LIFE THAT MAKES THEM HAPPY. This loss shows that ALL quests for EQUALITY & FREEDOM will ALWAYS face obstacles. So for right now, the future of gay families has taken a big step backward, but NOT that far back. Though this was a sad night there are signs of hope…The Prop 8 vote was very close (it passed by a 52 to 48 margin); but eight years ago, a similar measure passed by a much wider margin (61 percent) before being overturned by the California Supreme Court. Hence, the last word on gay marriage is almost certain to come from the U.S. Supreme Court—where the election of Barack Obama is expected to lead to appointments much more sympathetic to OUR rights than the current Court. THE ELECTION’S OVER, THE CHAMPAGNE’S BEEN DRUNK, FOR SOME THE SOBBING HAS SLOWED TO SNIFFLES, & ALL THAT’S LEFT IS TO FIGURE OUT HOW THE OUTCOME OF THIS ELECTION IS GOING TO HAVE A POSITIVE IMPACT ON US…TODAY, WE ARE LEFT RIGHT WHERE WE STARTED, BUT I DON’T FEEL THAT WE SHOULD LOOSE HEART BECAUSE OUR HEARTS N’ MINDS ARE ON THE FUTURE & OUR FOCUS IS ON THE BIGGER ROAD AHEAD…

ON HIS OWN TERMS...

Barack Hussein Obama II wrote his name indelibly into the pages of American history, engineering a social and political upheaval to become the country's first black resident-elect on his own terms, strategically AND symbolically. Obama stepped through a door opened 145 years ago when Abraham Lincoln, a fellow Illinois politician, issued the Emancipation Proclamation that freed African-Americans from enslavement in the rebellious South in the midst of a wrenching civil war. Though it took some time to happen, he is here standing on the shoulders of those that came before him with his head held high. But it is my opinion that this couldn’t have happen with just any man; it had to be the RIGHT man. There needed to be someone that could give the people HOPE and a BELIEF that they should be invisible no longer. You can tell that he took this walk NOT because he felt he had, but because he WANTED to. A man such as this knows that there is INJUSTICE n’ STRIFE that is killing humanity and he knows that someone has to take up the torch and become a beacon that’ll light the way… This light reflects the accuracy of his vision of a reshaped world. Last night, his VICTORY turned RACISM, HOMOPHOBIA & POVERTY into a footnote of time. Like he said, "this victory alone is not the change we seek; it is only the chance to make that change." As grand as the symbolism of Obama’s victory was, it was also a victory for his steady HEART, SOUL & MIND…NOW THAT WE HAVE SEEN WHAT CHANGE CAN DO, HOW ABOUT WE ALL TAKE THIS ENERGY, HARNESS IT & CONTINUE TO BRING ABOUT CHANGE IN OUR LIVES?

TODAY IS SUMMER LEISURE DAY!
