¿WHAT MAKES A REAL WOMAN?

Have you been following the story of Caster Semenya, the South African track star whose sex is being questioned after she won the 800 meters in the World Track and Field Championships about two weeks ago? Although she won the race, the 18 year old is being made to undergo "sex-determination testing" to see if she is indeed a woman. As someone who has been mistaken for a female a few times, I can certainly empathize with Semenya and as far as I know, I am ALL MAN! But this does brings up the question, "What makes someone female?" I don't know the kind of testing they are going to do on Semenya, but I can assume it's more complicated than looking under her track suit. Why? Because gender and sex are more complicated than that. In fact, the Intersex Society of North American estimates that in 1 in 1500-2000 births, children are born with "ambiguous genitalia" and doctors determine which sex to assign a child. But they also say there are even subtler forms of gender variance. Semenya has been subject to all kinds of media attention and some pretty mean things said about her. One of her competitors was quoted in the New York Times as saying, “These kind of people should not run with us. For me, she’s not a woman. She’s a man.” But this isn't simple homophobia. It is treading into much murkier water: the idea that what makes a man and what makes a woman is not black and white as they would like to believe. I can't claim any knowledge of her genetic makeup, but what if Semenya does have one of the naturally occurring variations of human chromosomes other than XX? This should not disqualify her from competing. Would this variance give her an unfair advantage? If so, then shouldn't Michael Phelps be disqualified for his "perfect body for swimming?" The International Olympic Committee has determined that transsexual athletes can compete in the Olympics. If Caster Semenya identifies as female, then she should be allowed compete as such. END OF STORY! WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS?

ATLANTA'S GAY PRIDE: THE SEXUAL CONNECTION LINK...

For the many GAY MEN & WOMEN celebrating GAY PRIDE in Atlanta today, each of the myriad of decisions they make today will have a DEEP impact on their lives. The choices made today will touch the VERY core of the community AND awaken poignant feelings within. So when they are called upon to choose between two OR more options, whether he/she be attractive OR distasteful, do you think it is possible for them to understand all they can about the choices ahead before moving forward?

Since I cared to remember, this community has been ISOLATED from each other, with NO seemingly possible way of forging meaningful connections. Self-protection and mistrust prevent us from reaching out to neighbors and peers, and we consequently use each for sexual pleasure alone. However, creating a community is something SO attainable as we have a host of available GAY MEN & WOMEN in place to achieve such a thing. To form the bonds that eventually solidify into long-lasting friendships, we must first be willing to rise above the walls of SEXUAL ACTIVITY dividing us from the individuals who inhabit our community.

It is SO sad that in MANY ways we are taught from the moment of accepting our sexual identity to FEAR each other and just take what we can get without investing ourselves, but how well has that been working for us thus far? Year after year we take the passive approach that prevents us from living harmoniously AND build a network of support that contributes to the well-being of all involved; & THERE IS NO DAY LIKE TODAY! Aren’t you tired of meaningless links with others in the community? Wouldn’t it be nice to speak YOUR truth so that others can respond to your honesty? I feel that if we were to approach our personal interactions with the intensions of building the community, it could bring MORE depth AND meaning to our community.

So as we all go on our voyages while we take the exhausting AND exhilarating journey with each other, how about we make this GAY PRIDE’S sex connections be the links that last? Feeling disconcerted by the foreignness of events that took place need not leave a bad taste in the mouth that only goes away by this same time next year. Haven’t we proven that what happens here doesn’t necessarily stay there?

¿WHAT MANNER OF FAITH?

Is FAITH what we TRULY believe OR is it what others tell us to believe? I asked this question because I often wonder how SO many of have such STRONG FAITH in things that are well intentioned, but lead us nowhere? So the other day I took my sister to my mother’s house and my uncle was there and he noticed that I had on my red wrist band that signified that I support the fight against HIV/AIDS. So he then asked me if I was joining the same fight as my mother and aunt because they both had small red pieces of cloth pinned to their clothing. To which my response was, “my fight is for something REAL” of course they got all upset because how could one of the most unclean sinners on God’s planet say that their cloth had NO significance. After being told that their cloth is for the sole purpose of ending the blood shed and violence that in the world, I reiterated my stance and left…However I couldn’t help but feel upset because they once again was following what Pastor said. I have NO problems with them believing in something, but how much FAITH do they have when they know for certain who is doing what in the community and would NEVER do the right thing and inform the authority on such matters? I understand that GOD handles everything and having FAITH means that they leave it up to him, but how practical is that? From wearing cloths placed on whatever parts of the body that is aching them to drinking water blessed by Pastor, these women seem to have given up any AND all sense of common sense. And as far as I can see, they fit into that BLESSED ARE THE POOR BECAUSE THEY DONATE HEAVILY, BLESSED ARE THE MEEK BECAUSE THEY OBEY, BLESSED ARE THE HUMBLE BECAUSE THEY DON’T QUESTION AUTHORITY…WHILE PASTOR SAYS, BLESSED ARE THE HUNGRY (MAKE ME RICH UNTIL IT HURTS), BLESSED ARE THE MERCIFUL (IF YOU CATCH ME DOING SOMETHING WRONG, LET IT GO), BLESSED ARE THE PURE OF HEART (BECAUSE YOUR BRAINS ARE SWITCHED OFF), BLESSED ARE THE TIMID (BECAUSE YOU GIVE ME YOUR POWER & BECOME MY SLAVES). What AMAZED me so much about my mother AND aunt is that they have NO voice when it comes to standing up for my cousin who was molested or other things that are deemed as the Christian way…So sad that they don’t know that when you practice faith instead of conscious living, you live under a cloak of fear; and eventually that cloak becomes so habitual you forget it’s even there. It’s very sad when one reaches the point where he/she can’t even remember what it feels like to wield creative freedom over their own life, independent of what they’ve been conditioned to believe SO FAITHFULLY. I find that in this case their FAITH is a coward’s substitute for courage. Harsh I know, but until they STOP comforting themselves by swallowing things that lead them nowhere, I don’t see any other way to respond to what they are doing. I hope AND pray that they wake up AND realize it’s all B.S. AND take that first step towards freedom from such an oppressive way of having FAITH…Truth be told, the so-called religious authority they place their FAITH in don’t know any more about spirituality than they do; and if they want to have FAITH in God, then all they need to do is open their mouths and directly begin the communication process instead of using third-party intermediaries who ask them to pin pieces of cloth that he prayed over and bless onto their clothing…ACCORDING TO WIKIPEDIA, FAITH IS THE CONFIDENT BELIEF OR TRUST IN THE TRUTH OR TRUSTWORTHINESS OF A PERSON, IDEA OR THING…& FROM WHAT I KNOW, GOD HAS NO NEED FOR PERSONS THAT LIVE IN BLIND FAITH, SO I WILL KEEP THE FAITH THAT ONE DAY THEY WILL NO LONGER BE BOUND BY THEIR CURRENT FAITH…

GOD STARTS MORE WILDFIRES TO REMIND CALIFORNIANS TO SAY NO TO HOMOS…

Fundies claim God started California Wildfires as a Wrath Warning to "Lowlife Pervert Homosexuals" and their Supporters. THIS IS REALLY SICK!

God made his frustration with California’s betrayal of him known once again this week, this time as he used his great power to start several wildfires in the region’s chaparral and sagebrush. 

2,000 Californians have been forced to race in panic and fear, as our Lord and Savior reminds everyone the fate of being gay; burn in hell for all time!

AP News – wildfire that exploded in the mountains north of Los Angeles has spread over nearly 8 square miles of bone-dry forest, sent up massive billows of smoke and cast an eerie orange glow against the night sky. 

The blaze in the steep San Gabriel Mountains above La Canada Flintridge spread out in all directions Friday, the most active flanks to the north, deeper into the forest and east, said Forest Service spokesman Stanton Florea.

Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger declared a state of emergency Friday in Los Angeles and Monterey counties. 

“There’s tremendous amount of heat all over the state! We’re scared, ” he said. 

Oh friends, hear my words. Homosexuals are a great blight unto normalcy and they are causing God’s anger to explode all over the world! 

These mighty fires he’s starting up in California’s foothills and cities, they are nothing compared to what he can truly do! It may just be fires right now, but what if he sends great meteors or tsunamis to just wipe out all these lowlife perverts and their supporters? What will happen to our national economy and world relations? 

God is giving us ample warning to not test him too much, and hopefully this fire will teach everyone a lesson. 

Just like when God was smiting Pharaoh for being evil, an ominous cloud of doom looms over the sinful lands. Marvel at this fearful site, just like this overwhelmed firefighter is doing. 

My friends, there is no fighting off the fires of hell. God has made them so they will, never extinguish and all sinners will have the flesh of their souls seared for all time! 

So let us heed this warning and make God proud by saying ‘No Gays!’ everywhere we go. It is the right thing to do and will save us from this great display of God’s wrath! Glory, glory.

AMERICA’S BEST DANCE CREW S4E04 – VOGUE EVOLUTION

Week 4 of America's Best Dance Crew and Vogue Evolution is still in the competition! Despite plenty of backstage drama with transgender crew member Leiomy Maldonado, much of which is believed to have been overblown by the show's producers, the fierce voguers from New York continue to deliver.

This week the remaining six crews took on the Bollywood challenge. Vogue Evolution received the Bollywood style Rajasthani which involves the use of scarves as a prop. The crew easily infused their signature style into the choreography and stepped up the level of difficulty with an amazing stunt that sent Leiomy soaring through the air eventually landing flat on her back in a dip.
